Grafting

To join parts of two different plants so that they grow together into one. Typically, a scion is grafted onto a rootstock. Vaccination can, among other things, be used as protection against a number of diseases. Grafting usually takes place by making a cut in the rootstock and placing the cut end of the twig in it.
